Is the XML viewer really free?

Yes. Viewing and "Download as PDF" work without signing up. Only saving corrected fields as a new XML needs a free account — and that doesn't use up any of your 2 free invoices either.

Which fields can't I change?

Accepted Answer

Invoice number, invoice date, tax number, VAT ID and IBAN are locked. These details may no longer be changed after an invoice has been sent (§14 UStG) — the tool is meant for correcting drafts before sending, not for invoices already sent.

Which XML formats are supported?

Both EN 16931 syntaxes: CII (the format used by ZUGFeRD and most German generators) and UBL (common for XRechnungen from other software and for Peppol invoices from other EU countries). When editing, the XML is always regenerated as an XRechnung in CII syntax.

Can I save an XRechnung as a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Yes. "Download as PDF" gives you a readable PDF view for filing, printing or passing on. The original XML is attached unchanged inside the PDF. The XML remains the legally binding document, so you still need to keep it.

Is my data stored?

No. The file is only processed for display and not stored permanently.
